PPG Italy & Peru Evoke Fond Memories of Sci-Fi Movie "Transformers"
fioravanti1.jpg  The 2007 sci-fi movie “Transformers” becomes the title of a new success story achieved by Fioravanti Logistics Solutions between 2008 and 2009, thanks to the collaboration with PPG member in Peru, Solot Peru SAC. The movie plot entailed an ancient struggle that re-erupts on Earth between two extraterrestrial clans, the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, with a clue to the ultimate power held by a young teenager. This is not quite the theme of our dare-devils in Italy and Peru, but their project was just as complex and intriguing!

fioravanti2.jpg The shipment opens with Tag 65972 and Tag 65973, two wonderful twin specimens of transformers, made in Italy by one of Fioravanti’s most valued clients. Both units weighed 80 tonnes and both measured L5.25m x W3.45m x H4.00M.

fioravanti3.jpg As soon as the red phone rings at Fioravanti’s offices, their client’s urgent inquiry appears immediately clear:  It is vital to urgently transport Tag 65972 and Tag 65973 from Milan’s hinterland to Door Lima, Perù! Fioravanti’s experienced personnel calmly start working on this requirement and the best logistical solutions are worked out in short time. Afterwards, thanks to their “Special Permits” power Fioravanti arranges the inland haulage of the two Transformers from their own base to Savona port. At Savona both “metal bozos” are embarked on a suitable heavylift vessel assigned by carrier Grimaldi and destined for Antwerp, Belgium, as shipments from Italy to Lima, Peru necessitate transshipment.

fioravanti4.jpg From Antwerp both Transformers are successfully stowed on board “BBC Langeland” where BBC Chartering have a service calling directly to Callao Port, where Fioravanti’s valued PPG partner, Solot  Peru SAC, is ready to receive 160 tons of Italian technology.

fioravanti5.jpg After “BBC Langeland's” docking at Callao port, the complex shipment is not yet completed. Unloading operations commence during day-time and Tag 65972 and Tag 65973 are fastened and secured in order to be transposed on Solot’s special platform trailers. Isla San Lorenzo off the coast of Callao seems to place itself  like a barrier, it appears to want to guard and help unloading operations to end in the best possible way. It’s pitch dark when vehicles depart from Callao port. Delivery term is DDU Lima, so that the platform trailers leave the port in order to reach their new assigned base, where both appliances begin their own work. The shipment is successfully completed and all live happily ever after.
